Hello devs, Is there a summary somewhere online that lists new features of cs6 and what their state of implementation is? Specifically, I remember talks about being able to save and load a compiled .csd through the API. Is this still happening?
Thanks, Alex

One place to look is at the updated API documentation here: http://csound.sourceforge.net/doc/html/index.html On 21 April 2013 23:31, Alex Weiss <alexweiss86@gmail.com> wrote: Hello devs, |

Thanks, Rory. Love the new documentation! I couldn't find anything about compiled/binary orchs, so I guess I'll just keep monitoring the docs. Are there any big design changes in the new API? How clearly is the backend (the synthesis engine) separated from all the text analysis/parsing? Is it possible to use one without the other, e.g. to construct an instrument programmatically?

Hi Alex, that is still in our plans, but is not there yet in 6.0. What we can offer is parsing/compilation from strings, and compilation directly from a parsed AST. Also you could look at What_is_New.txt in the http://sourceforge.net/projects/csound/files/csound6/csound6.0rc1 directory > Hi Alex, > > that is still in our plans, but is not there yet in 6.0.
