[Cs-dev] Release date?

Date2011-09-14 17:58

Subject[Cs-dev] Release date?
The bug that was stopping me is now fixed. What other code, fixes or
improvements are needed before a release?

I have compiled the serial opcode but as none of my machines have
serial devices have not tested. Last time I looked the SF bugs list
was very short

In particular, before or after Hannover?

yes, I think they're almost all gone, except for some Windows issues
and a couple of specialist opcodes.
I'd say get the release out officially at Hannover, which means
preparing everything in the next two weeks.

I would prefer before as well. Just a note, I have not yet gotten the us opcodes working on OSX but have also not spent time on it due to moving. I'll be taking a look later tonight.

If we really want to release before Hannover then we need

Code Freeze apart from bug fixes starting tomorrow midnight Universal
time. That gives next week to package and check, aiming at release at
week end 25/26 Sep

Acceptable to all packagers? Are all new opcodes documented? WIll
generate draft release notes tomorrow

The Lua opcodes are not yet document. I would prefer a release after
Hanover, but I will scramble if I must.

I guess this question is mostly directed at Steven. Will the CMake
build system be usable with 5.13 for all its new features? I'd like to
switch the debian package from using scons to cmake.

Hi Felipe,

I believe it is up to date with the exception of the Lua opcodes. I
have been trying to keep it up to date as much as possible, though I
have not done a full check in a while that there is feature parity
between Scons and CMake. I have also been primarily testing on OSX,
so have not done a build on Linux in a while.

SubjectRe: [Cs-dev] Release date?
OK I've tried a build and it fails because cmake doesn't look for
header files in multiarch paths (debian sid and current ubuntu should
be affected by this), so cmake is not adding some -D flags. I'll keep
on reporting when I advance further.
