I did this, as you can see if you look at the history in CVS.

I will complete this version type change tonight and make sure that csound
5 builds with your build system. I am in the middle of making changes to
enable a simplified automake-based build system. The idea is to keep your
configure.in/makefile.in system going so that you can continue to work,
while I continue to work also, so my apologies for overlooking this file,
which I do not use.

For the time being, I have no plans to change the directory structure, as
doing so would make it more difficult for both you and I to work on the
code. In fact I don't really care if the structure does change, but if it
does, it will be easy to change my Makefile.am.

I have also changed a number of files in the Opcodes directory to get more
of the plugin opcodes to build on Cygwin. Doing this will require moving
some files from OOps to Opcodes. I am building up to ugrw1 now. I had to
add a lot to csdl.h, but I haven't committed most of these changes yet.

Line 75 in Top/jpff_glue.c now says that VERSION is undeclared, and

Who removed them and killed my code? Where did they go?
Really i am spending more time trying to stand still than actually
changing things.
