Victor,

I tried your suggestion - substituting the MyCsound5 portaudio.dll for that
in Michael's Csound5.

Believe it or not, both worked fine and the same; that is, both allowed ASIO
drivers only. (This unless I did something wrong in the attempted
substitution - but I don't think so.)

What seems particularly strange to me is that the MyCsound5 portaudio.dll is
77K, while that of Csound5 blossoms to 2.7M.

So I gather (hesitantly) that it must take something besides just the
portaudio code to implement other driver models. Any further ideas as to how
to get more drivers into Csound5?

That's strange, because apart from fixing the bits that did not
work, I did not do anything else to the code. In addition, Michael
Gogins has incorporated my fixes, as far as I know.

Perhaps Michael will have some clues as to what it's needed for
full support. The difference in size of the DLLs has to do with them
being built with different compilers, so the MSVC might depend more
on system DLLs than the mingwn, which probably has more static code
in it.

I'll see what I can find out.
