| I would like to add that in my limited experience with time/frequency
analysis/resynthesis, the most useful algorithms have been those that
implement some sort of "tracking phase vocoder," where the SDFT analysis is
turned into envelopes for partials, which are resynthesized with an
oscillator bank, possibly with additional noise. This seems to enable long
stretches, radical morphs, and such with somewhat fewer artifacts than the
pure SDFT-overlap/add form of the phase vocoder.
