This is my guess too.  The homebrew version of Csound installs into ~/Library/Frameworks, while the Csound installer installs into /Library/Frameworks.  With OSX, the framework that exists in ~/Library/Frameworks will have precedence over the one in /Library/Frameworks.  The homebrew version should really be installing into homebrew's frameworks folder, but I never got around to sorting that part out.  Until then, I think what we need to do is just warn users that if they are using homebrew, not to use the installer version without completely clearing out the homebrew version.
