I'd prefer to drop Cygwin from Csound builds in favor of MSys/MinGW,
actually. So far I haven't found any third party stuff that I couldn't
build with that platform.

I would think that libs and shared libs built with MSys/MingW would link
with stuff built with Cygwin anyway -- what do you think? In other words,
building Csound only with MinGW should not prevent linking it with
Cygwin-built code. I think!

In other Csound 4 build news, I put the latest copy of MinGW and MSYS
on my Windows 2000 machine, and built FLTK and an FLTK enabled version
of Csound from the sources in csound-4.23f12gbs.2.tar.gz without a
hitch. It seems to me that MinGW + MSYS is easier to use that Cygwin.

Given your note, I plan to test on Windows using MSYS/MinGW only, and
will give up on using Cygwin until someone gives me a reason to do
otherwise.
