They always generate sounds in the range [-1,+1] at present. I have multiplied the output by 0dbfs which is not sane. Also took the opportunity to tidy some of the code. The problem I was having yesterday with atsa utility is that it crashes on a silent file, which due to Audacity bugs it was analysing.
