Subject[Csnd-dev] Idea: Git revision number as part of build
Hi All,

I had the thought that it would be nice to integrate the git revision
number used to build Csound. It could then be reported as part of the
standard output or just on the --version output. My thought is that
it might help us when communicating with users and debugging problems.

If this sounds good, is there a preference on where the value should be printed?

Hi All,

I'm going through some old emails and wanted to follow up on this one
for reporting git versions. I have filed issue 676 with some
description of the enhancement proposal and some thoughts on the
matter:

https://github.com/csound/csound/issues/676

Thanks!
