I was talking to a friend today about Csound for iPad and iPhone, and it doesn't seem to exist yet as an app, is that true? My friend said you can't just download an app and install it as you can with Android, you have to get your app from the App Store. Is that true? (Man, I hate Apple for this.)
I googled and found this though: http://www.boulangerlabs.com/products/csoundtouch/ Anyone know more about this? It strongly resembles what we're doing for Android...

The situation with iOS is this 1) You can only get apps through the apple store (short of Jailbreaking your app) 2) You can only build and deploy to a device if you pay apple for a developer's licence 3) The Csound for iOS example apps can be built and deployed if you have the said licence 4) There are commercial apps in the Apple Store that use Csound. 5) Nothing yet that resembles the CSDPlayer, though, AFAIK. However, RT performance on iOS is very good. Victor On 5 Jun 2013, at 20:36, Michael Gogins wrote:

Thanks for the info. I understood you meant jailbreak! So, are you going to make this app? Or is Boulanger? Or what? Best,

Well, we would leave it for iOS app developers to do it. Our interest stops at making sure Csound can be built and ran in the platform. (given the difficulties of distributing it etc). Victor On 5 Jun 2013, at 21:06, Michael Gogins wrote:

I get it, but I also think it's too bad, because apps are indeed appearing in the app store, but Csound as such ha not yet appeared, and even though I'm a Windows and Linux user, I'm aware that more musicians use Apple. On Jun 5, 2013 5:39 PM, "Victor Lazzarini" <Victor.Lazzarini@nuim.ie> wrote:

Well, Csound is in CsGrain and CsSpectral, for instance. On 5 Jun 2013, at 23:42, Michael Gogins wrote:

Of course I understand that. But where is the full power of Csound? Is it available in these apps, van you load and run any csd? On Jun 5, 2013 6:58 PM, "Victor Lazzarini" <Victor.Lazzarini@nuim.ie> wrote:
