Cheers for all your help guys. :) Cannot find libcsound source code though on sourceforge. How interconnected is the API and csound? I know csoundCreate creates an instance of csound, but if I remove csound itself, the API still works... and that is interesting. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ RSA(R) Conference 2012 Save $700 by Nov 18 Register now http://p.sf.net/sfu/rsa-sfdev2dev1 _______________________________________________ Csound-devel mailing list Csound-devel@lists.sourceforge.net |

source code: http://sourceforge.net/projects/csound/files/csound5/csound5.14/Csound5.14.2.tar.gz/download what you mean remove csound itself? This confused me a little because debian has separate packages for libcsound64 and csound itself. Would like to know how they've been separated. On debian I can autoremove the package csound and still compile and run my program using libcsound64. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ RSA(R) Conference 2012 Save $700 by Nov 18 Register now http://p.sf.net/sfu/rsa-sfdev2dev1 _______________________________________________ Csound-devel mailing list Csound-devel@lists.sourceforge.net |

The 'actual program' is just a series of calls to the API. I think it's common for Linux packages to separate libraries and applications.
