Hi Michael, Thanks, good to hear that. Are you finding the stability of the svn version OK? Andy Fillebrown reported he found it unstable (wouldn't render trapped) on windows (even without PythonQt), but I haven't had similar reports from other windows users, or on other platforms. There does seem to be a little instability. I was able to run everything I tried to run, both in CsoundQt-d and CsoundQt-py-d, including stopping and restarting and using the virtual MIDI keyboard, but at times the application would exit without warning or freeze up. I had the impression that using the virtual MIDI keyboard made this worse, but I did not prove it. In spite of this, I have gone ahead and packaged up CsoundQt-d and CsoundQt-py-d with the 5.14 Windows installer. If you want some time to try to fix this, I will hold off on publishing the installer on SourceForge. Another issue is that I think it would be nice to see printout from Python scripts as they run, but perhaps I simply didn't know how to enable this. I do see the output when the script has completed. I suggest that you make Python (for running scripts in the terminal) another configurable external program for those cases in which users have more than one version of Python installed. On another note, I've played a bit with Cabbage, and I am very eager to see Cabbage integrated with CsoundQt. Thanks, Mike On Tue, Oct 11, 2011 at 12:14 PM, Andres Cabrera |

Hi Michael, I've fixed some memory issues in svn. Can you see if this improves the problem? I think if it doesn't, we should go back to the previous stable release, since if you are seeing crashes on simple tests, it will be a nightmare for people to use, which will give a bad impression of Csound because of CsoundQt problems. Hi Victor, In light of the recent reports, I would suggest packaging 0.6.1, which has proven quite stable, until I iron out the problems with current svn. You can find the sources here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/qutecsound/files/QuteCsound/0.6.1/ I was hoping to be able to include all the new goodies in this release, but it's better not to rush it. Please bring out the newest version of CsoundQT with the newest name and let us "test" these things. What you are telling us is that some of the more "esoteric" new Python things might need further testing and updating, this should not break all the basic functionality and fixes there. We would love a newer version with this release. -dB ___________________________________ Richard Boulanger, Ph.D. Professor of Electronic Production and Design Professional Writing and Music Technology Division Berklee College of Music

Hi Dr. B, I hope to release a new version soon (I know I've been saying that for months!), but I think an unstable version should not be packaged with Csound. I have not noticed the instability myself either on Linux or OS X, but it seems significant on Windows, which might mean it's lurking there for the other platforms as well. I will make available a new version soon. I'll finish up the packaging of the McCurdy collection, sort out the issues with stability on Windows and then do the release without more delay. Hi all, When testing CsoundQt using Csound 5.13 the instability on Windows occurs when using Csound with multiple threads, which CsoundQt does by default on my machine. Changing CsoundQt's "Number of threads" option to "1" fixes it. Cheers, ~ andy.f On Wed, Oct 12, 2011 at 7:12 AM, Victor Lazzarini |

Do you have the release notes? I can copy your announcement to the Csound users list. Crashes occur at times when using the virtual midi keyboard or the new parser, bit the new parser is off by default and is not your problem. I will try 0.6.1 tonight and see if it is more stable. On Oct 13, 2011 1:41 AM, "Andres Cabrera" <mantaraya36@gmail.com> wrote:

Hi, I'm looking at the Qt information about icons on windows, and I don't remember doing that... Has CsoundQt ever had an icon on the exe? Cheers, Andrés On Thu, Oct 13, 2011 at 2:59 PM, andy fillebrown |

Yes, it always had an icon in the exe. I'll take a look at the .pro files when I get home tonight. ~ af On Thu, Oct 13, 2011 at 1:17 PM, Andres Cabrera |
