The majority view seems to be to move to git, so I have activated git
on the project but at present it should not be used.

First question is about branches
  Currently there are MAIN, ParCS, OpenMP, sampletime, non-makefile-am
and newParser.  i belive non-makefile-am and newParser to be dead.  I
know MAIN and ParCS are alive.  Can anyone claim the other two,
sampletime and non-makefile-am?

Second question: the change will need to be done when activity of low
or zero for a while.  Please could you commit any changes very soon,
or wait until the change is complete?

I also suggest that we do not move csound(4) and some others
