Trying to update the manual I try "cvs update" and get the error message

cvs update: cannot open directory /cvsroot/csound/manual/attic/examples: Cannot allocate memory

cvs [update aborted]: cannot open directory /cvsroot/csound/manual/examples-xml: Cannot allocate memory

What am I doing wrong?
