[Cs-dev] Float versus double Csound - audible differences

Subject[Cs-dev] Float versus double Csound - audible differences
Some time ago I ventured some opinions on these lists to the effect that I
could hear differences between the same piece compiled with the
single-precision version of Csound, versus the double-precision version,
even if both versions are rendered at 96000 samples per second at ksmps = 1
to floating point soundfiles, and the score files are completely identical.

Well, I did a double-blind test using WinABX software, and it turns out that
I actually can hear differences -- in some pieces, in some places. The
double version sounds less shrill in some spots.
