[Cs-dev] Manual version

Subject[Cs-dev] Manual version
Csound is at version 5.07, but when I build the manual, it says it is at version 5.06. I bundle the docs with the binaries in the
Windows installers. Are there plans to change the manual version number or should I go ahead and upload the Windows installers?

Regards,
Mike

Subject[Cs-dev] Python, was Manual version
Hi Michael, did you give any thought as to how best the python issue can
be dealt with? As it stands the two main suggestions are 1) Have the
installer look for python and if it's not there install it and 2) move
the python opcodes to a new folder so that Csound doesn't complain about
them.

The second suggestion certainly involves the least amount of work. Is
there any way that the changes could be made for this version of the
windows installer? If that's out of the question can the website state
that Csound users MUST have python installed on their machine in order
to run it without problems out of the box. I know the warnings are
non-fatal but as far I can see there are a problem and it's certainly
provided plenty of frustration to lots of new users.

I, and I assume all Csound users on windows greatly appreciate the work
you've put into making and maintaining such a straightforward and easy
to use installer, it just seems that the Pyhton issue undermines the
great effort and time you've put in. I would like to know if perhaps you
have any further suggestions on how to fix it.

regards,
Rory.

It's now changed. I've also updated the "what's new" section for 5.07.
When I get answer about "koscl3", I'll tag the manual sources and start
building the release.

Cheers,
Andrés
