So, do you mean the code works OK without optimization, but crashes if
compiled with optimization ? That sounds like a possible compiler bug;
what compiler version is used in your current distribution ? You could
also experiment with various compiler flags to see when the crash occurs
and when it does not (example customCCFLAGS settings: "-O", "-O2",
"-O2 -fno-strict-aliasing").

But you do have 64 bit machines for a long time, and use vco2 frequently,
if I recall correctly. Or is it really the first time you tried vco2 on an
AMD64 build ?
