2cents from somebody who is not actively developing at the moment. It seems that there are different ideas of how CVS should be used. one extreme is to commit as early as possible and have review of the new code when it is in CVS, the other is to commit only those changes that are collectively agreed upon beforehand and that are tested on the developer's local codebase extensively. Either way can work, but everybody has to agree to use the same approach. Another option is to make different branches in CVS. One is the hit-and-run experimental-testing branch, the other is the release branch. Csound5 might be reaching the point where a release branch is in order. That branch should work and compile. But maybe this just moves the problem to the time where you want to merge the two. As an outsider I do feel a lack of explicit status-reports and a release schedule: where is csound5 now, what still has to be done, who is responsible for which part etc John, maybe you could state which bits need to be stable for you to work on the parser. regards Gerard On Thursday 28 April 2005 08:09, jpff@codemist.co.uk wrote: > The problem is that we do not work together in real time.
