Summary: csoundqt locks up on run

Initial Comment:
I have tried a number of the examples, and they all lock up.
windows xp pro sp3 32-bit, 3GB RAM, pentium 4 HT 1C 2-thread. even tried multicore and using portmidi.
examples that used to work don't anymore.

let me fix the title. it was csoundqt or qtsound or something like that. a
part of csound. one of the the csound guis.

What version of Csound and CsoundQt are you using?
Do the examples lock up immediately after running, or when receiving
events?
Can you try without portmidi and see if there are still lock ups?
Do all examples lock up or some in particular?
