I see that Joachim's mail agent is Thunderbird, so I assume that did
it somehow.  I wonder, though, whether it's built in or if he set it somehow.
(I've never used Thunderbird, so I've no idea how it handles mimetypes
-- by extension?)

It doesn't look as if anybody is particularly concerned, though (:-)),
so I'll stick with 'text/x-csound-csd' for myself, and hope that becomes
used more widely if/when needed.
