I thought I'd mention this, as I could not find any documentation about it:

To build csound, I needed to use scons version 0.96.
Scons 0.97 did not work (UnicodeDecode error)

WinXP, msys/mingw,
tested with python2.5 and python2.4 (same result)

*must use scons 0.96

Unless anyone can confirm that scons0.97 actually works for compiling
csound, the documentation should note the specific scons version
requirement.
The best would of course be to fix the csound source to work with scons 0.97.
