I don't fully understand this. I was under the impression that "Linux" (different distros) as such were a standard in that it has a common way of acessing files and libraries for example. And a VST plugin would be a library, wouldn't it ? If the system has the other rescorces needed to use that library, why should it not work with a precompiled one ?
