In March, the Qt graphical user interface toolkit will be licensed under the LGPL, just as Csound is, on all platforms, including Windows. See: http://www.qtsoftware.com/about/licensing/nokia-adds-lgpl-to-qt-licensing-model. This is good news for Csound developers. Qt is probably the best windowing toolkit that runs on multiple platforms, and it is almost as good as native toolkits such as Microsoft's MFC. If we wanted to, we could now replace FLTK with Qt. Developers of graphical Csound applications in C or C++ would probably be well advised to use Qt.
