I've been using C++ for the last 8 years for *everything*
that I've ever published, and I've *never* had anything
similar to the problem you report. Some of my code has
not been touched for years and it still compiles, at most
with some warnings resulting from g++ getting more pedantic
with each release. I don't think the problem is C++.
