[Csnd] A question about FLTK

Subject[Csnd] A question about FLTK

Hi everyone,

in a recent thread here, I noticed some mention of FLTK widgets, and that they are "not a good option" for Csound.

Personally, as I like to test the performance of synths on older PCs running linux, I have found FLTK to be a wonderful feature for making lightweight GUI-based synths using Csound. I know that there are several frontends available for Csound, and while I appreciate these options, I prefer to run synths in as lightweight a context as possible, and doing so from a terminal, with FLTK to control instruments in realtime, is really ideal.

Is there an intention to do away with FLTK for Csound in the future?  (Obviously I hope the answer is a big "NO"!)

Thanks,

Brian

You needn't worry. I don't think the fltk stuff if going anywhere.

I too use FLTK interfaces from time to time and also hope it will remain
