Once again thank you for the reply. 

Ok, tried the seed function and it does appear to change the rhythm of the pattern (giDurs in this ex.) each time the file is played, although the order of the notes stays the same. So it appears that in this particular case it may have something to do with a different parameter or opcode used to randomize the notes vs the durations.

I'm currently reading the section on randomization and still trying to digest it all. I've read most of the manual a few times recently but find learning is not always linear. Having dabbled in creating a few instruments where values such as amp, amount of FM applied or filter cutoffs are randomized and, with the aid of the print command and my ears, I could tell that the values did not start the same like Note values do every time in this file. So still a small mystery to me at this point.

I'm not familiar with the code, but I'll take a look tomorrow and see if I can understand what's going on.
