François,

Thanks for your response. Hmmm, when I run csound --version, I get the following response

"WARNING: Error opening plugin directory '/usr/lib/csound/plugins64-6.0': No such file or directory
0dBFS level = 32768.0
--Csound version 6.08 (double samples) 2016-12-01
[commit: none]
libsndfile-1.0.27
end of score. overall amps: 0.0
overall samples out of range: 0
0 errors in performance
Elapsed time at end of performance: real: 0.001s, CPU: 0.001s"

So version it seems it 6.08, which is an older version than where I took the ctcsound.py from. I guess this is from a previous install, so that helps. But should I be worried that the response to csound --version (and also csound -V) was not solely the verision number but instead it appears like it tried to run Csound.

I am also scratching my head on how to deal with this issue, I guess I could try to purge csound and reinstall? If anyone has thoughts on how to proceed, I would appreciate it.

Thank you

It's the normal behaviour with --version, all
good in that regard. 6.08 is very old, three
years more precisely.
