Is there anything special or proprietary regarding Csound's OSC implementation? I can't get this Android OSCSurface (or any other mobile app) to work with a test Csound orc that listens.

The test .csds in the manual work just fine. I have the network and path setup correctly on the OSC client also-- so a bit stumped. Thanks. |

I've been using Csound with Open Stage Control for some months now without any issues, operated from an Android tablet, but using the Chrome app, not a native Android OSC client. But before that, I was using the Lemur app on Android, no issues there either. On Thu, Jun 11, 2020, 2:21 PM Roger Kelly <loraxman@gmail.com> wrote:

Is your csound listener app pretty much similar method as in the manual examples On Thu, Jun 11, 2020 at 1:36 PM Dave Seidel <dave.seidel@gmail.com> wrote:

I got a Python library working as a client on my Mac fine. I am suspecting this is a situation where Csound is using UDP and my non-working clients are using TCP. On Thu, Jun 11, 2020 at 2:49 PM Dave Seidel <dave.seidel@gmail.com> wrote:

Wireshark is a beast but you could use it to verify this and troubleshoot.

I got a UDP sender for my Android. Csound could see that message fine. No idea why developers would choose TCP implementation for their apps. On Thu, Jun 11, 2020 at 3:16 PM Richard <zappfinger@gmail.com> wrote:

Confirmed. Found an Android APP called Bydcontrol Live that works. On Thu, Jun 11, 2020 at 3:26 PM Roger Kelly <loraxman@gmail.com> wrote:

Ok ...I am wrong about all of the above. I used OSCRaw instead of OSCListen. This solved all my problems! On Thu, Jun 11, 2020 at 3:40 PM Roger Kelly <loraxman@gmail.com> wrote:
