One other quick note - the piece uses a mode known as the Lydian Dominant mode, the 4th mode of the melodic minor scale, basically a major scale with a #4th(11th) and a flat 7th. The choice seemed obvious given that the rose instrument features both as overtones quite prominently which seemed a little unusual:
