[Csnd-dev] ctcsound repo

Subject[Csnd-dev] ctcsound repo
Hello Victor,

Joachim Heintz suggested that the ctcsound repo should be transferred from https://github.com/fggp to https://github.com/csound.
The ctcsound.py file has already been moved from the ctcsound repo to csound/interfaces a few months ago.
Actually the ctcsound repo includes a cookbook with a few recipes about using ctsound. I've no objection to transferring this cookbook into https://github.com/csound.

Github doc says: "To transfer repositories to an organization, you must have repository creation permissions in the receiving organization. If organization owners have disabled repository creation by organization members, only organization owners can transfer repositories out of or into the organization."

So, if you agree with Joachim's proposal, I think you could do the transfer.

Regards
François

+1 would be great to have it as part of the Csound organization.

I also wonder about the usefulness of ctcsound.py in Csound/interfaces: whouldn’t it be better to have it be installed via pip rather than included in the installer?

I followed the convention used before for csnd6 and the advantage is that if new functions are added to the API, I'll update ctcsound.py so that each release of Csound will be distributed with the right version of ctcsound.py

I thought to use this procedure, https://help.github.com/en/articles/transferring-a-repository, so that all the bells and whistle of the original repo are maintained. So I can transfer the ownership of the repo to your account (vlazzarini) and then you could transfer the repo to htpps://github.com/csound using the same procedure. What do you think?

I thought to use this procedure, https://help.github.com/en/articles/transferring-a-repository, so that all the bells and whistle of the original repo are maintained. So I can transfer the ownership of the repo to your account (vlazzarini) and then you could transfer the repo to htpps://github.com/csound using the same procedure. What do you think?
